Bell Motor Company in downtown Leonardtown, Maryland was the second oldest, continuously-running Chevrolet dealership in the nation. The company originally opened shop on Jan. 17, 1923. The company had to close its doors forever due to economic hardships in 2008. Gary Bell told Guy Leonard of the County Times on Sept. 26, 2008 that his family’s business has fallen victim to the sharp economic downturn that has hit the country.[1]
