Born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 21, 1963 to Donald and Billie Jones. Migrated to Maryland, by way of Pennsylvania, where she cofounded Virtually Everything, Inc. in 1994. VEI is best known for producing Southern Maryland Online. She first married David Gordon in 1982 and had two children, Doug and Kyle. They divorced in 1991, and Dee Jay remarried in 1998 to Larry Gude.
Prior to founding VEI, Dee Jay worked for Channel 10 in Leonardtown as a sales representative. During her tenure there, she authored a column called Fire Away that was published in Channel 10's advertising magazine. Fire Away was later adapted to Southern Maryland Online and was the online publication's first column. Her most infamous column was the St. Mary's County Dictionary where she catalogued the various colloquialisms used by the locals.
Ms. Gude currently resides in Great Mills, Maryland with her three cats: Claudia, Kiki Stinkertoes and Gidget.
